Seventy-seven volunteers collected 1.5 tons of trash at Paces Mill. Keep Smyrna Beautiful partnered with Keep Marietta Beautiful and the National Park Service for Rivers Alive on November 3. Volunteers pulled trash, plastic, tires, and a deflated float from the parking lots, picnic area, multi-use trail, along Rottenwood Creek and under I-75. Every bit of litter volunteers collected is one less bit of litter in the Chattahoochee.

Rivers Alive is an annual volunteer cleanup event that targets waterways in Georgia. The annual Georgia Waterway Cleanup is the largest single volunteer effort to protect Georgia’s water resources; an estimated 25,000 volunteers will collect trash and debris in streams, rivers, lakes, wetlands and the ocean.
